Micro-needling into your Monday routine
On Mondays I Microneedle with the Avega:Derma roller face and body kit found on Amazon $26.97. I have been doing this for a month now and have been loving the results. "Beauty is Pain" they say and its true, it definitely stings (like a mild sunburn) a bit afterwards but I say "Healing is Healthy". Dermatologist, estheticians and most beauty bloggers agree that the sterile needles that puncture the skin on the surface of your face and neck, increase collagen production. Some also say this then allows your skincare products to reach deeper into the skin with can improve the effectiveness of the active ingredients.
* Promotes Collegen Production
*Allows your toners, essence mists, serums, eye serums and moisturizers penetrate the skin deeper, even the next morning I can feel the serums tingling a bit stronger the next day. Huge win if you buy the $$$ stuff.
*Dermatologist do offer this procedure for $$-$$$ price tag so if funds are low and you have time to do this few nights a week this is for you. Houston does have some great skincare professionals. [I think I see another blog post in the future of my Professional Favs]
Cautionary Tales:
-Do this at night as this does cause some redness, and because you are puncturing your skin don't wear any makeup or go swimming for right after session (like for a couple of hours really).
-You shouldn't see any blood and if you do you are PRESSING way too hard.

MY MONDAY ROUTINE AND HOW TO MICRONEEDLE
- Wash face with facial cleanser and then micellar water on pad to remove left over debris
- With sterile dry Derma Roller I roller over my entire face, from forehead down my chin (nose is weird shape so I just do the bridge). Getting as close to eyes as possible even going over my eyebrows and lid areas. Then I go from jawline down to my shoulders because don't NEGLECT THE NECK! Whole Microneedling procedure adds an extra 4 minutes to my normal routine.
- Then sterilize my microneedler with isopropyl rubbing alcohol 70% ( you can get this at any local grocery or convenience store) and allow to dry. I put my alcohol in a spray bottle for easier distribution.

Followed by my Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask (recalled) But I'm too cheap to throw away a perfectly good mask that is still deemed safe for use and has 15+ session left(found it after a move recently :) I mention this because there are Microneedling LED Light combo devices $$$ Which yes, saves time but I like to save money first. Come on baby needs a new pair of shoes... for real my baby girl needs a new pair of shoes.
Afterwards I follow up with:
Toner Mist(Mario Badescu)-Essence Mist(Secret Key)-Serum-Dark Spot Corrector (Burts Bees)-Eye Serum(Murad)-Moisturizer (Tata Harper). All of which takes a record time of 1 minute max.
